Her pregnancies have felt so different I threw up every day, sometimes twice, for five months, which then made me insanely hungry. So I'd stuff my face to try not to feel nauseated, and I gained 55 pounds.
On my 5'1" frame, that was brutal! This time has been much smoother. I sometimes even forget I'm pregnant except for all the moving around he's doing in there! Vivianne was only 8 months old, and I was just starting to feel like my normal self. And here we go again! Eric definitely wanted a boy, though, and as soon as I found out we were having a son, I was jumping up and down. It's the best of both worlds. And now there will be no pressure for a third one!
Pregnancy style is a challenge for her too "I'm all about embracing my bump. But when I have a short amount of time to get ready and I put on multiple things before I can find something that fits, I get flustered. But my daughter got stuck and flipped upside down, so I had to have a C-section. To be honest, it took a while to get over not having that instant skin-to-skin moment.
It's okay to be sad if things don't go the way you had hoped. I'm not sure how that's possible, because my daughter is a wild woman. I swear she's me incarnate.
I was crazy full of energy as a kid and so is she. Vivianne is also a girl's girl, wanting to wear pretty dresses all the time. Eric has pro athletes on both sides of his family -- plus I used to play sports -- so I'm sure our son will develop athletic ability. Eric can't wait to be able to throw a football with him.
It's such a wonderful, intimate thing to share with your child. I remember that full, happy look Vivianne would get when she was done. I also love all the cuddling during the baby stage, like when a baby snuggles up under your chin.
And since Vivianne has so much energy that she won't let me hold her for long, I'm particularly excited for that part again. In photos of me nursing, there's probably less cleavage than what I've shown on the red carpet. Sharing breastfeeding photos online is a good example for other women who want to nurse. It doesn't always come easily, and we need to support each other. That man can run on three hours of sleep.
But before we got married, I'd sleep until noon. Mama needs her sleep! I'll be taking care of the newborn and Eric will be hitting up the playground with Vivi to burn off her energy. It will be great. He and I always seem to figure it out. I know some women slim down through nursing, but with Vivianne my body held on to some extra pounds to make milk, and that was fine.
It took me eight months to start to look like myself again, and then of course I got pregnant. I think the old saying that it takes ten months to put the baby weight on and another ten months to lose it is probably very accurate. Look and feel your best with these tricks from Decker: I have them in every color! They make your eyes pop and give you a little confidence boost. I get in my bathtub, download a show onto my computer, prop it up on a chair, and just lie there watching and relaxing. I'm petite and curvy and a lot of girls are in the same boat as me, so I help design pieces to fit all shapes and sizes.
